The Storting has unanimously elected new members to the Storting's Ombudsman Committee for the Armed Forces for the period 2026–2029. The Parliamentary Ombudsman for the Armed Forces is a control body appointed by the Storting that is responsible for monitoring the Armed Forces. The Ombudsman shall ensure that the defence sector complies with the applicable laws and regulations, and that the rights of employees and conscripts are safeguarded. The Storting has now elected new members to the Ombudsman for the period from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2029. The election was based on an recommendation from the election committee, and the decision was unanimous.
